GUEST POST: CELEB STYLE WITH HOLLAND AND BARRETT

A-List Theft: Steal the Celebs Style

The Cannes Film Festival has been the talk of the town recently; but not for the reasons you may think. Being a film festival, you’d think everyone would be looking at the screen, but instead everyone’s eyes are looking in one direction; and that’s at the red carpet, as stars like Nicole Kidman, Carey Mulligan and Jennifer Lawrence dazzle the crowds with their Hollywood glamour.

Because of this attention on the red carpet, stealing the Cannes style is already starting to take off; in the same way that stealing celebrity style has always been a popular hobby.

However with the summer coming up, getting the style right depends on that summer body; and a way to do this is to borrow from celebrities again. But this time through diet secrets, by incorporating things like acai berry juice, supplements or powder into your diet.

Once you’ve stolen the celebrity diet secrets and you’ve got a summer body that would give the likes of Mila Kunis a run for her money, it’s time to finally steal the red carpet looks; but which ones to take?

With the fashion world changing constantly it was great to see a vast array of styles on the carpet worn by several celebrities, which incorporated new trends and even brought back classic elegance; so we’ve selected our favourite looks for you to choose from.

Monochrome
Black and white was big at Cannes this year, with huge stars like Emma Watson, Zoe Saldana and Rooney Mara wearing the look, which looked classically elegant with a modern

Colour blocking and neons
Bright colours are everywhere this season; and Cannes was no different with everyone rocking a bright colour at some point, from TV star Eva Longoria and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard to older actresses like Jane Fonda and Emmanuelle Riva; showing the style can be worn by everyone.

Graphic prints
Graphic prints also sprang up everywhere and are one of the bigger trends this season. Whether its birds, flowers or random patterns, the style looks amazing in the day or night, which was proved by the likes of Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Milla Jovovich.

Classic red
Adding to the classic theme created by the monochrome look, classic reds burst onto the red carpet in a variety of styles; from detailed patterns to simplistic elegance the style can be adopted by anyone, which was shown when both Sharon Stone and Cheryl Cole wowed the crowds in their differing red statement pieces.

RECENT EMPTIES

Hi lovelies! Let me just start by saying these are not products I used up in just one month, in fact I can't even remember the last time I did an empties post! So these are just a few things that have built up over the past few months. Since taking these photos, I've finished up a few more products so expect yet another empties post up in the near future! I'm pretty proud of myself for actually finishing up these products as I'm usually terrible at actually finishing things, I usually let things sit in a drawer or cupboard for ages then forget about them so these posts actually motivate me to use things up! Anyway, I won't ramble on too much as this is going to be a long one, so, let's get into it!

Vo5 Heat Defence Sprays
As heat defence sprays go, this one is okay. It does the job, it protects my hair, it doesn't make my hair greasy and my hair doesn't feel dry after straightening. The reason I don't really love this is because I don't love the smell (I find it a little manly!) and it doesn't do anything other than protecting my hair. I can't complain though as it doesn't claim to give you super soft or gorgeous smelling hair! That said, this is cheap, it does the job and looks prettier than a black bottle, so for those reasons I probably will repurchase this, but if another brand is on offer/ gets recommended to me I'll probably go for that instead!

Alberto Balsam Hairspray
I don't use a lot of hairspray so I only need a cheapy one for when I decide to curl my hair or do some kind of style that requires a bit of hold or control. This one was only around £2 - £2.50 in my local Savers and for the price I think it's fab! It does have a generic 'hairspray' smell, but it doesn't leave my hair crispy or dryed out. Fab fab fab! Definitely will repurchase,

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush
I love the Batiste dry shampoos as I'm sure every blogger and their mum does and Blush is my absolute favourite scent. I won't bang on about this as I'm sure you all know the drill! I've already repurchased this, can't live without it!

Schwartzkopf Gliss Leave in Conditioner
This is another one of my favourite products and a super cheap one at that! I spray this on wet and dry hair and it makes it so soft and alongside the rest of my hair products, this has definitely improved the condition of my hair. I can't recommend this product enough! Will forever repurchase!

Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Conditioner
I used to be so in love with this conditioner, as it has that gorgeous Soap & Glory smell and left my hair super soft and smelling gorgeous all day, but I think my hair has sort of gotten used to it and it doesn't seem to work like it used to! It's a shame as I love it, so I won't be repurchasing for a while but I'll defintiely give it a go again in the future.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Shampoo
I love this. This is fab to use every wash if you want to be just a bit blonder for summer, or once a week to brighten your blonde and give it a bit more life. I've heard mixed reviews about this saying it's drying or makes the hair yellow, but I use this with a toning shampoo and a hydrating conditioner and haven't had any problems with it. Repurchased already!

ProVoke Touch of Silver Shampoos
I'm pretty sure I've spoken about this several times on the blog before, but it seriously is THE best toning shampoo for blondes. If you're a blonde and you hair tends to go a bit yellowy, or you'd just like a bit more of an ashy tone, you NEED this in your life. Forever repurchase!

Nice n Easy Deep Conditioner & L'Oreal Preference Conditioner
These came with hairdyes so not a lot to say about them except I love how these little conditioners make your hair smell after dying your hair! Does anyone else wish they sold them in big bottles? I know you can get the nice n easy ones separately but I so wish they had full size versions.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment
I really loved this, while I'm not sure how much actual difference it made to the speed my hair grew, it certainly mae it look and feel a lot nicer! I do think it contributed to growth a bit, but I think you'd have to be fairly religious with it for it to make a true difference and as it's quite pricey, I don't think that'll be happening! I will repurchase this if and when it's on offer but otherwise maybe not.

Benefit That Gal Primer Sample
I didn't love this. A little while ago, I had a microdermabrasion treatment at work (linked if you're not sure what that means!) which brightened up my skin a lot, so I wanted to try to find a product that made my skin stay bright as I don't have time for regular treatments! So I searched through my makeup collection and found this little sample of Benefit's 'That Gal' brightening primer. While it did brighten my skin slightly, it didn't make my makeup last any longer at all. As benefit primers go, I definitely prefer POREfessional, so I won't be repurchasing!

Dove Go Fresh Compressed Deodorant
A deodorant? Little bit weird, but I wanted to include this because I want to have a bit of a moan. They claim that these little cans last just as long as the big ones and I personally think this is a lot of rubbish! I could be getting a bit spray happy or something, but this didn't seem to last very long at all to me! Probably longer than a tiny one, but not as long as the big ones. I love the scent though, and it fits nicely into my bag, so despite my moaning, I probably will repurchase.

Garnier Simply Essentials Toner
I don't really have too much to say about this as I'm not fussy with toners. However I do like to use one as toner closes your pores and no body wants open pores. This one does the job and it's super cheap so that's fab. Might repurchase but as I said, I'm not hard to please with toners.

Nivea Double Effect Deodorant
Just another deodorant. It smells good and makes me smell good, not a lot more to say! (Why did you even photograph it Chloe? I know, I'm sorry)

Korres White Tea Cleansing Water
I was honestly so sad to see this go. This gets off all last traces of make up/ dirt and makes my face feel almost as fresh as when I've just used a face wash. I refuse to use face wipes, even after a night out, so this was my little savior for when properly washing my face at night seems too much like hard work. I actually got this for a fiver in TK Maxx, so I'd probably only repurchase it if I found it in there again!

Garnier Simply Essentials Make Up Remover
This is fab, it's an oil/ liquid formula that you shake up before you use it and it got my makeup off super well. However I think my skin got a little used to this/ it stopped being my friend as it randomly stopped working for me! Come in the next product....

Johnsons Eye Make Up Remover
This was recommended to me by another blogger and I love it, it removes every trace of makeup (not just eye makeup!) and even takes of the dreaded benefit they're real mascara - happy days!

Korres Guava Body Butter
I really liked this range and Korres Body Butters are lovely. This had a nice holiday type scent and got rid of any dry skin that was lurking about. This was another TK Maxx find in a little set that I reviewed in full here. So again, I'd repurchase if I found it at the bargain price again!

Hope you enjoyed this rather ramble-y post! I tried to keep it short(ish) and if you made it to the end, give yourself a gold star! (And if you read this, tell me in the comments that you earned your gold star)

Let me know if you've done an empties post lately, I love them!

AMBER LIGHTS CANDLES - WAX BURNER

Hello lovelies! A bit of a different review for you all today but it's something I've been absolutely loving lately! Being a candle lover, I'm super excited to share this product with you all!I was recently sent this gorgeous gift set* from Amber Lights Candles, including a wax burner, some tealights and a selection of wax melts in various scents. I actually came home to this when I got back from my holiday so it was a nice welcome home for me!

In this lovely little gift set, I received a cute little wax burner, (which looks lovely in my room!) with several of Amber Lights scented wax melts. As you can see in the photo, the melts have super cute names such as Gorgeous (which I am currently burning, love it!) and Sexy As Hell. I love when products have fun names so this was a massive plus point for me! I'd never tried a wax burner before but I am now well and truly converted! Each wax melt lasts for ages and make my room smell gorgeous! I find the scents much more noticeable than with a regular candle which I love.

In addition to the scents I received, there are tons more on the site. They all have fun names and a detailed and very accurate description is provided so you know what you're receiving! I really want to try Candyfloss, Carnival Freaks, Hugs and Kisses, Pink Kisses and Rock Chick - to name just a few! You can browse the wax melt scents here.

If you're tempted by this gorgeous little set (only £6.99!!) or any of the other sets or wax melts, the lovely Dawn from Amber Lights has given me a code for 15% off for all my lovely followers! Enter CHLOESWAY15 at the checkout the receive 15% off your final cost at the checkout. Click here to shop!

What do you think? Have you ever tried a wax burner, or would you like to? Let me know!

MAJORCA 2013

Hello lovelies! I'm back! As most of you will know, I've been in Majorca for the past week and handed my blog over to some wonderful guest bloggers (check them out below this post if you haven't already, they're fabulous), I have lots of posts planned for the upcoming weeks, but for now I'm back with some photos from my holiday!
HELLO GATWICK AIRPORT!
Except, we weren't supposed to be at Gatwick airport. We were originally flying from Stansted, but when we got there, we found out our flight got cancelled, something about some flights not being able to fly over french air space. Who knows. So, I got on the phone to our travel company and got us another flight, luckily on the same day. However, this meant getting over to Gatwick airport, almost two hours away! Despite all this, I remained firmly in happy holiday mode, as you can see from my super cool pose.

So, the long flight meant getting to the hotel at 6am, then having 2 hours sleep before heading out the next day!

Super white first day arms!

Fun fact for you all, there are willies everywhere in Majorca. It's a bit strange and a lot funny if you have my childish sense of humor.

Giant hamster balls on the hotel pool one night.

Loved this dress, Primark, you've done it again.

Yummy cocktail!

Darren in a far too small sombrero.

I am wearing shorts, though it may not look like it!!

Sea breeze!

<3
Have you ever been to Majorca? Would you like to go? I'm already searching for very cheap holidays to go on asap!
Speak soon lovelies!

GUEST POST: YUEN, THE CRAZIEST PARADIGM

Hi lovelies! As some of you may know, I am currently away on holiday in Majorca this week, yay! So, as I didn't want to leave you all post-less, I am handing you over to my lovely guest bloggers.
Today's post is by Yuen from The Craziest Paradigm and it's 15 tips for the ultimate summer! Such a cute and appropriate post idea I think you'll agree! Enjoy!
Photobucket

Hey, my name is Yuen from The Craziest Paradigm which is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog. I'm just starting out so I'm learning along the way! Anyway, today I'm bringing you...:

1. Exercise: Worried that you're not in tip-top bikini shape? Start now! Grab a friend and get some form of exercise regularly- whether it's jogging, swimming, team sports or  fitness class, do something that YOU enjoy because it will make working out and toning up a lot more fun.

2. Less is more: Lighten your beauty routine and let your skin breathe - replace foundation and blush for a simple swipe of bronzer to make your skin glow

3. Try letting your hair succumb to their natural waves this summer

4. SPF 15 or more!: Lips lack a protective layer so they're super sensitive to UV rays! So put on that SPF 15 (at least) lip balm to keep your lips moisturized and safe

5. Avoid anything sticky: sand will stick to it and it will break down faster in the heat

6. Go au naturel with pinks, peachs, golds and bronze

7. Remember to pack waterproof items! Even if you're not swimming, you don't want the humidity to give you panda eyes.

8. SUNSCREEN! Apply it above the moisturizer and below makeup.

9. Don't forget to bring along oil blotting paper to wipe away the sweat & shine.

10. Mop your hairline after wearing a hat - oil can get trapped under your hat or headband and you don't want acne on your forehead!
11. Wear light, flowy clothes: Choose dresses and tops that are made out of lighter material like cotton. Avoid dark colours because they absorb heat and can make you sweat faster!
12. Skip powder and opt for cream: Face powder turns cakey when you sweat so apply cream-based items that blend easily into your skin
13. Sunburnt? Apply aloe vera extract or lotions containing aloe vera as that will soothe the burn and helps it to heal faster
14. Exofliate: Putting on self-tanner with exfoliating results in blotches and streaks
15.Stay hydrated! Carry a bottle of water with you wherever you go so you have no reason to forget!

GUEST POST: JESSICA, JESSICA'S JOURNAL

Hi lovelies! As some of you may know, I am currently away on holiday in Majorca this week, yay! So, as I didn't want to leave you all post-less, I am handing you over to my lovely guest bloggers.
Today's post is from Jessica from Jessica's Journal and it's all about some gorgeous summer lippies, enjoy!
Photobucket

Hello Everyone, I'm Jessica and today's guest blogger for Chloe. I've decided to share three of my favourite summer lip products which I'm using lots now and can see myself using lots over the Summer months!
The three I've chosen are Revlon Colourburst Lipgloss in 'Hot Pink', Benefit Bella Bamba Lipgloss and Mac Creme Cup Lipstick.

L-R: Hot Pink, Bella Bamba, Creme Cup

♥ Revlon Colourburst Lipgloss £7.99: This lipgloss definitely lives up to it's name. It's a vibrant, hot pink with lots of silver micro shimmer running through out it. This is amazingly pigmented and by far one of the most opaque glosses I own. It has a lovely formula which is non sticky and it leaves a pink stain after it's worn off.

♥ Benefit Bella Bamba £13: First off, I love the packaging it's just reminds me of Summer! This is a sheer, watermelon pink so perfect for popping over a variety of lipsticks for a sheen or to wear alone for a subtle bit of colour. It smells really fruity and has quite a thin formula so it does wear off fully after about an hour but in my opinion that's the only negative. I find it quite hydrating too which is nice when it's a bit hotter.

♥ Mac Creme Cup £14: I've never really been one for lighter pinks but after owning this for ages then finally trying it out after a long time of neglecting it I really do like it! It's a popular shade so I'm sure you've seen it before but it's a light pink without being too nude, it's a cremesheen finish (my favourite) so applies smoothly, doesn't dry my lips out and leaves them glossy!
~ ~ ~
So those are my current top three Summer lip products, I'd love to know what yours are!

GUEST POST: EM, EJVERX

Hi lovelies! As some of you may know, I am currently away on holiday in Majorca this week, yay! So, as I didn't want to leave you all post-less, I am handing you over to my lovely guest bloggers.
Today's post is by the gorgeous Em from ejverx and it's about these gorgeous high waisted denim shorts - make sure you pop over to her blog and say hello!

Photobucket

shorts: topshop

Helloooo! This is my first ever guest post so here goes the awkward introduction. I’m Emma and I blog over at ejverx.blogspot.co.uk, a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog. I’ve been wanting to do a guest post for ages and I love Chloe’s blog so this seemed perfect :)

I set out this spring/summer with the goal of finding the perfect pair of denim shorts. I wanted some dark denim, high waisted, roll up shorts, and for months that seemed impossible. I thought Levi’s would be the perfect place but I have reaaaaally long legs, so none fitted me properly :( I thought I’d try Topshop but I didn’t hold out much hope as they seem to be notorious for short shorts (definite no-no for every day use!), but I was totally surprised. These shorts are literally exactly what I had in mind. They look so flattering on and are totally the perfect length. They actually do them in quite a few different colours now which is really awesome.

Denim shorts are such a staple piece to have in your wardrobe and I’m so happy I’ve found these! Have you guys found your perfect pair?

Hello everybody! I'm Elizabeth from the style blog,Elegance. Today I'll be blogging as   a guest on Chloe's fabulous blog and I'm going to be sharing with you one of my favorite   outfits to wear for a night out.
When dressing for night I always start with one eye-catching piece and build my whole   look around it. I chose my black chiffon sequin top. I wanted to keep my outfit simple   and classy and I have a habit of gravitating towards all black everything. So I decided   to pair the white leather jacket with my black chiffon sequin top to give it some   contrast against the dark colored accessories.
I kept my jewelry simple to balance out the statement top and I finished off my look   by adding a envelope clutch and suede platform heels (they arevery easy to walk in and  actually quite comfortable) This look is great for parties, a date night, or going out  with your girlfriends! Be sure to stop by my blog and don't forget to follow Chloe!
