HOLY CRAP!! I did not see that coming. I've seen a lot of these 'what is my face worth' posts lately and thought they were fab. It's a great way to see what everyone uses in their everyday makeup routine, but it's also really interesting and a little bit scary to see just how much your everyday makeup bag alone is worth. I figured I'd go all out and include everything I use, so lipbalm, tweezers, brushes and lash curlers were all thrown in there. I'm pretty glad I decided against adding my morning skincare items into the mix, I'd think I'd have had a little cry. Nearly £250 on makeup seems totally crazy when you think about what else you could buy with that money. The scary thing is, this is the tiniest fraction of my whole collection and I'm using a fair few drugstore products for my everyday look right now! I don't even want to think about the total had I have swapped Bourjois for Chanel or Look Beauty for Clarins! We just won't think about that right now.

So, we've learnt a couple of things here. Firstly, I spend a small fortune on makeup and secondly, my brushes badly need cleaning. Shameful.

Let me know if you've done one of these posts, I'd love to see it!

IF I WAS A RICH GIRL

Tory Burch Flats - Selfridges

Hey lovelies! Today, I have a designer wishlist for you all. I don't know about you guys, but sometimes, I absolutely love to torture myself scrolling through websites such as the above, Avenue 32, Jules B and Selfridges and drooling over items I will probably never be able to afford.
I don't know what it is about this jumper, but I just love it, it looks like it would be the comfiest, cosiest jumper ever. It's just a shame it's totally out of my price range!! I do think it's sometimes worth splurging on staple pieces though, as the quality is usually amazing and they'll last forever and ever! With this in mind, I also added this Michael Kors bag and Tory Burch flats to my wishlist. Again, these are items that are staple pieces (who doesn't need a black bag and good pair of flats?) and I'm sure they'd probably last me a lot longer than my River Island bags and Primark flats. Maybe Santa will be super kind this year hey? The final and most realistic item on my list is this gorgeous YSL lippie, I only own one YSL lipstick currently and I've been completely rationing it. I think it's getting lonely in my collection though, so I'm hoping to add another very soon and 'Corail Intuitive' looks like a gorgeous shade, I'm a sucker for a light, coral pink. It may have to happen.

What do you think? What's your fave item on my list? Do you like to dream about designer items like I do?

AUTUMN TAG

Hey lovelies! Today, I'm going to be doing the Autumn Tag, which was created by Makeup Pixi3. I was tagged by the gorgeous Katy from Giggles and Makeup to do this tag and as Autumn is my absolute favourite time of year, I just couldn't say no! So, let's get right into it!

For Autumn, what is your...

1. Favourite thing about it?
There are so many things I love I don't know how to choose! I adore the Autumn Fashion, I love buying coats and boots and scarfs and jumpers (I could go on) and layering my clothes. I also love the weather. I love those proper Autumn days where the sun is shining but the air is still chilly and all the leaves are on the floor and you can snuggle up in a coat and scarf and drink hot chocolate. Those days are the best kind of days! However my all time favourite thing about Autumn is super soppy as it's the anniversary of when me and my boyfriend Darren first started 'officially' going out. Our actual anniversary is on Halloween so the whole time of year reminds me of when we first started to like each other and first started dating. It's all very soppy and very lovely, so that's why it's my favourite time of year!

2.  Favourite drink?
Esquires Hazelnut Hot Chocolate is kind of my thing. My boyfriend and I used to go in there almost every morning when we were at college. I've never been a Pumpkin Spice Latte kind of girl. Or any kind of latte really, my relationship with coffee has always been a rocky one, so hot chocolate all the way.

3.  Favourite scent/candle?
This was a recent (today) discovery, but Yankee Candle have several new Christmas scents and it's a tie between Snowflake Cookie and Merry Marshmellow. Very Christmassy, but it's never too early to start burning some Christmas scents! Unless it's July, then it's too early.

4.  Best lipstick?
I stick to the same lipsticks year round, but now I've well and truly lost my summer tan, I've been loving my YSL Nude Beige lippy. I think it was too pale on my summer skin, but now I've run out of fake tan decided to embrace the paler look, I'm loving it! If I'm feeling very daring, I also love MAC's Diva for a gorgeous dark vampy lip.

5.  Go to Moisturiser?
Definitely my Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins moisturiser. It smells like chocolate orange and that thrills me. Oh, and it's also a really good moisturiser.

6.  Go to colours for the eyes?
Again, I don't switch my makeup up too much, but if I'm feeling particularly fancy, I'll go for more bronzey shades or an olive green. I'm a little more adventurous this time of year as I know my makeup has no chance of melting off!

7.  Favourite music or band/singer to listen to?
Right now my Autumn Album is 'Old Souls' by Deaf Havana. If you're hearing Deaf Havana and thinking ooh, screamo music, Chloe, what are you thinking? Think again! Their past two albums have been totally different to the likes of Friends Like These and Nicotine and Alcohol Saved my Life (ahh myspace days.), it's just amazing, if you like rock music of any kind, definitely give it a chance, I'm obsessed!

8.  Favourite outfit to wear (i.e. boots & a scarf combo)?
I love dresses with tights and boots and my furry jacket. And big scarves! If it's winter florals, dark red or chunky knit, you're pretty much onto a winter.

9.  Autumn treat?  (i.e. a new scarf or bag you have your eye on)
I'm thinking a new coat, but it'll probably take until February for me to find the perfect one, I'm so fussy!! I love big furry collars, but also love duffle coats but I just don't know! If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

So, let me know what you thought of this post. What are some of your favourite things about Autumn?

I'm going to tag a few people below, but feel free to do this post and definitely let me know if you do, I'd love to read it!

I tag:

TIDY ROOM, TIDY MIND

Hi lovelies! Recently, I've been revamping my bedroom a little, I'd had the same wardrobes and drawers for years so they desperately needed replacing! So, I've now got this gorgeous wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table (all linked) from IKEA. I don't know about you guys, but there's something about re-organizing things that makes me feel really chilled out (not while sorting through all my crap though, that was stresful!), it's strange, but clearing out all the clutter and having everything all neat, tidy and organized makes me feel so much more relaxed. As you can see from the little snippets of my room, I'm trying to keep everything super simple and minimal and I'm hoping to keep it that way!

My bedroom is fairly small, so I try to make the most of the space by keeping as much as I can away in drawers and cupboards rather than all over the floor! It's a good thing I still live with my parents and have a room to myself, I don't know how I'll cope sharing with a boy when I eventually move out with my boyfriend Darren, he may just have to put up with the pink I think. I'm still looking for little touches to perfect the room, in particular the chest of drawers, I love having the little bits of makeup and candle, but I think maybe it needs something else. I think fresh flowers would look lovely, but would need replacing often (Darren, if you're reading...), let me know what you think as I'd love your opinions! Also, if you have any favourite candles, definitely leave me a comment as I get a bit obsessed with candles as the winter approaches.

What do you think? Do you like to keep your room nice and organized? And if so, do you have any organization tips? Let me know!

LONDON FASHION WEEKEND

Hi lovelies! I have a super exciting post for you all today, because as you can see, I went to London fashion weekend! I won the impulse and model's own competition and received two pairs of luxe tickets for the show this morning! I literally received the tickets yesterday, which was really last minute, especially as I usually work on Saturdays! However, luckily enough I had the weekend booked off for other things so I could go! So, I took my friend Laura along and gave the other pair of tickets to Becky from Lipgloss and Lashes who bought her lovely friend along and off we went!

As we had Luxe tickets we were allowed access to the 'Luxe Lounge', which was fab, we had access to free champagne and drinks, though having not eaten all morning we were more interested in the little bowls of peanuts and snacks! There was so much going on and to be honest, I hadn't really known what to expect as the whole thig was so last minute and unplanned. We arrived at 10am and had tickets for the 12:30 catwalk show, so we had a good couple of hours to wander around and get stuck into everything that they had to offer.

The first thing we did was pop into the Canon 360 photobooth, which was a really good booth with about 48 cameras all in a circle that went off at the same time to take a 360 shot of you. We all went in together and did a jumping shot which was really cool! I've posted it in this post but I'll post it on twitter or on my Facebook page (both linked in the sidebar) so you can all have a peek if it won't play on here! Also, a lot of you will recognise the stunning face in the second photo! Me and Becky met Fleur! (Fleurdeforce), she was super sweet to stop and take (several) photos with us and she is just as gorgeous, if not more gorgeous in person as she is on camera, not jealous at all... (I am). We also went into a little room that was called 'maybelline backstage', where we got the chance to walk on a super cool green screen catwalk, where you get superimposed onto a catwalk with an audience and things, again, if I can I'll pop it on twitter for you all to take a peek at!

As we had Luxe tickets, we got to sit front row for the fashion show. As you can see, I was super organised and forgot my camera so I had to take all the photos on my phone, hence the slightly crappy quality! It was amazing to be able to be that close to the show. The show we got to see was the trend show, it included 4 different trends, 'Pretty in Pink', 'Back to Nature', Shape Up' and 'Victoriana', which were all gorgeous, however my favourite was of course pretty in pink - definitely a trend I'll be rocking this winter! Another benefit of the tickets was that we got amazing goodie bags at the end of the day too, which I'll probably post more on in a later post!

I hope you enjoyed my post! Have you been to fashion week? Let me know!

NEW IN: REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSHES

Real Techniques Blush Brush/ Powder Brush

Hi lovelies! I have another review for you all today! For quite some time now, I've been using Real Techniques brushes for my foundation, concealer, blush and lips, but was still using some rather tired looking old MAC/ e.l.f/ unbranded brushes for my eyes, powder and bronzer. So, when my sister bought the Real Techniques Powder Brush and Blush Brush home for me after a shopping trip, I was super excited!

I've been using both of these for a few days now and have, just as I expected to, fallen totally in love with them! I use the powder brush with my favourite face powder (MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus if you're wondering!) and it applies it like a dream. I'd never really thought much about what powder brush I was using, as I didn't really think it made much difference. Wrong. This makes putting my powder on super quick and easy as it's so much bigger than the one I was using before! It seems to apply my powder so much more evenly than any other brush too. It doesn't pick up too much products when I swirl it in the pan, so the powder on my face is evenly distributed and not at all cakey. The bristles, as with all Real Techniques brushes, are super soft and they haven't shed at all (touch wood!!). Overall, if you fancy a good, high quality powder brush and like to apply your powder quickly without worrying about cake face - then definitely give this a go!

The blush brush, as you can tell is pretty big to be used for blusher (I use my Real Techniques contour brush for this!), but I love using this as my bronzing brush. I use a very light subtle bronzer, so I don't need to be massively careful with where it goes, so I love swirling this round in the product and sweeping it around my temples, under my cheek bones and along my jawline for a really quick, easy and subtle bronzed look. Though when I decide to do some contouring, I just pinch the bristles of this brush slightly to make it a little more narrow and apply bronzer under my cheek bones, then use it as normal to blend the product out, which gives a perfect finish! Again, the bristles are super soft and no shedding as of yet, which is fab.

Overall, I'd totally recommend both of these brushes, Real Techniques can do no wrong in my eyes! And speaking of eyes, let me know if you've tried the eye brushes and let me know if I need them in my life!

THE TRUTH IS I'M AS LOST AS I WAS BEFORE

Ooh look, an old school song lyric titled OOTD. Throwback! However, my face was not feeling being photographed in these photos apparently, so the focus is going to be solely on this gorgeous little striped dress from Choies*. I mentioned Choies in a previous outfit post a while back. They're an amazing website full of incredible, unique pieces.

I paired this gorgeous 'fake two piece' dress with my favourite black suede wedges from ebay, that I featured in my recent giveaway. I adore this dress, it's so different to anything I've ever owned before, it's not something I'd have gone for had I have seen it on a hanger in a shop, but it looked so cool on the model (it's not on a model on the link provided, but elsewhere on the site and I saw it on lookbook.nu!!) I thought I'd just be brave and go for it! I'm so glad I did! I haven't had the chance to wear this out yet and I'm hoping I'll be able to rock it with some sheer tights and a leather jacket sometime soon, as the weather is definitely not bare leg appropriate. Does anyone else feel like it's just turned sub zero overnight here in the UK? Oh well, it's an excuse to buy a new wardrobe I suppose. Like I need one.

What do you think of this dress? Is it something you'd wear?

VICTORIA'S SECRET PRESSED MINERAL BRONZING POWDER

I lovelies! I have a review of another US beauty product for you all today. It's no secret (no pun intended), that Victoria's Secret is a bit of an obsession of mine. The swimwear and underwear is gorgeous and I'm hoping to expand my collection (when my bank account allows), but what I love the most is their bath and body, cosmetics and accessories. I could spend forever browsing through the little makeuppy bits, the phone cases, makeup bags, perfume and all the bath and body stuff. So, when I got the chance to try this gorgeous mineral bronzing powder, I was so excited! I haven't seen this in the UK stores, so I'm not sure it's available over here, Victoria's Secret seriously need to get their act together and get some online shipping to the UK on the go, we're waiting!

So, as you can see this, this little beauty is a four colour bronzing powder. It's got a very subtle shimmer and the shades are all fairly light, which is perfect now my summer tan has well and truly disappeared. What's great about this is that you can use a light hand and apply it all over for a really natural looking glow, but because the colours are well pigmented, you can build it up for a deeper bronzed look. The darker shades can even be used as contour as the shimmer is so subtle.

The four shades make this product really versatile as you can mix and match to create different 'levels' of bronze! There is one light shade, which makes the perfect cheek highlight (gotta love a multi-use product!), I use a slightly smaller brush to just get this shade when I want to do this and a larger brush to swirl all the colours together for an all over natural look. You can also just sweep your brush through the darker shades if you wish too.

This is a mineral powder and I find it sits really nicely on the skin without going cakey on top of other powder products which is fab, no one likes a muddy, cakey bronzer! So, overall, I'd totally recommend this if you can get your hands on it, I'm pretty sure this comes in other shades, this is the light shade, which is perfect for my skin tone at the moment, but you could obviously see what's best for you!

What do you think? Is this something you'd like to try? What's your favourite VS product?

LIFE, LATELY

lovely surprise from my boyfriend - looking through old photos, love this of my nan! - funny face
chillin with darren - impulse and models own inspiration kit - count down to the blog awards, it's even closer now!
models own nail are design - strange gift with some clothes I was sent - lovely flowers from my sister
meeting gorgeous bloggers at beauty week - london at night - company beauty week
champagne at beauty week - company/ origins goodie bag! - these made me chuckle
early rising - I got a new job! - welcome pack from nails inc

Hi lovelies! I've been a bit MIA lately and haven't been blogging as regularly, boo! As you can see, the past two weeks have been crazy busy for me. I've spent a lot of time with family and in and out of London for events, interviews and all sorts. So, we have a bit of catching up to do!

First off, I'd been having a bit of a rough time as I wasn't completely happy with work and things, so I spent a lot of time just chilling out with Darren, seeing my Family and going out with Friends, just trying to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life. Whether that be looking through old family photos with my sister Hannah, my Mum and my Nan, going out for a few cocktails with friends or just watching family guy until 1 in the morning with Darren. We all go through tough times in our lives and granted, mine definitely wasn't the worst, but little things had been getting me down but instead of letting it get the better of me I decided to change it! So, fast forward two weeks and two interviews, I've now officially started working for Nails Inc in Oxford Street, London! I'm so, so excited to be there as it's such a fab company. While I love beauty, I wanted a career I could progress in and hopefully this is going to be exactly that! I came to realise that if I wasn't happy with what was going on in my life, moaning about it or worrying constantly wasn't going to change that. I had to get up, brush myself off and do something about it! So that's exactly what I did. Working in London is something I've always wanted to do and I'm so excited to see how this goes, so I'll definitely keep you all updated.

In addition to all the madness, I also went to Company Beauty Week last week, which was amazing. I got to meet lots of lovely bloggers including Perdi, Taliha, Becky, Ellie and Angelica. I didn't get to hang around and chat for nearly as long as I'd have liked to but they were all lovely and beautiful girls and I'd totally recommend checking out all of their blogs! Beauty week was amazing, the staff were so helpful and informative, there were endless amounts of champagne and canapes, a fab photobooth (what blogger in their right mind doesn't love a good photobooth?) and we got a gorgeous goodie bag at the end of the night, incredible! I so wish I could've attended more of the Beauty Week events and would love to know if any of you have done blog posts on them as I'd love to hear all about it.

What have you been up to lately?

TIMES I'VE FAILED AT INTERNETTING

Hi lovelies! I have a bit of a different post for you all today. My idea for this post (or shall we make it a tag?) came from stalking myself on twitter and coming to the realisation that yes, I may be a blogger, but sometimes, just sometimes I should not be allowed on the internet. Which gave me the idea for this probably really strange post 'Times I've Failed At Internetting' (we're making it a word), so without rambling on too much, I'm just going to get right on into it and show/ tell my internet failures.

X-rated
First up is a story. A story of the search for my perfect blog name. Before Chloe's Way, I tried several different variations of my name with random words, Chloe's Blog (imaginative), Chloe's Closet (kid's tv show) and finally Chloe's Corner. I don't think this is valid anymore, but when I typed chloescorner.com into my little search bar, I was greeted with all kinds of naked. Not quite what I was going for when starting a fashion and beauty blog. I don't think the website is still live, but just in case I definitely do not suggest typing it in.

Thumbnail Fail
Next,  this update on my personal facebook page. Not so bad, just sharing the Cosmo Blog Awards voting page, but wait, what's this? Oh, Chloe wasn't smart enough to change the thumbnail from a box of tampons. Not the worst thing ever, but definitely not the best thing to casually share on facebook.

Naughty Snowman
This is one of those ones that no one would notice unless I pointed it out, so, why not point it out? That's the smart thing to do. This is an old facebook profile picture of mine, not so bad. Until you look at where the snowmans arms are. Both sides. Maybe it's just my sense of humour though!!

Pointless Tweets
What does this even mean? I don't have anything to say about this, because I'm not sure what I even meant here.

Drunk Tweets
Next time 'friends', you take my phone AWAY.

Forgetting Something?
Not so much an internet fail, but a life fail. That I felt the need to share on the internet. Twitter does this to people!

Puppy What?
A reason why not to blog on your iPad, autocorrect is not your friend. This huge fail of a blog post label was on my recent post for Model's Own and Impulse with my poppy nail art design. Definitely not a puppy nail arm. Whatever that may be.

So, this was a pretty pointless post, but I thought it'd be fun to share a few of the times I've done completely ridiculous things on the internet. How about you? Have you ever gone back and discovered something cringe-worthy that you didn't notice? I'd love to know! (so I don't feel so alone). So, if you decide to do this post, definitely let me know!
