BENEFIT BOI-ING: REVIEW

Hi lovelies! Today, I just wanted to do a quick review of a lovely new (to me) product that I got for Christmas this year. I've never really been too fussy with concealers, as my skin doesn't tend to play me up too much, the odd spot every now and then and dark circles when I don't get enough sleep. I'd always been happy with the infamous Collection concealer and never really strayed from it. However, thanks my boyfriend surprised me with a few make up bits with my Christmas present and a Benefit girl helping him pick this out, I finally stepped out of my Collection comfort zone and gave this a try!

I was a little skeptical at first, because though I'd tried this before, it was in a benefit kit and was in a shade too dark for me, so I didn't get to try it too much and I'd never really tried many pot concealers before, only more 'liquid' ones. So, when I did try it properly, I was really surprised at how soft and easy to blend in this was. When you warm the product up between your fingers, it melts beautifully onto the skin and has an amazingly high coverage, without looking cakey or gross on the skin. It's perfect for covering spots or redness as the coverage is high. I like to use my Touche Eclat on under eye circles day to day to look more awake, but this is perfect for those days when my under eye circles are a little more obvious and dark, because it does a fab job covering them up. The lasting power is amazing too, I've used this with and without primer and while it does last longer with primer, it lasts a good 4-5 hours without fading without it too.

I'd recommend this to anyone as I think it would suit all skin types, however benefit don't offer a huge range of shades and while number 1 is perfect for me, I feel like another very slightly lighter shade would also be useful as well as a few more darker shades. Other than that though, I'm very impressed!

This is a little pricey at about £17.50 and with January seeming like the longest, brokest month in the whole year, it's not easy to part with what little money most of us have left in the month following Christmas. Although the sales and outlet shopping centres can help us beat the broke blues sometimes!!

What do you think? What's your favourite concealer?

  2. I really want to try this out but I feel like I would need a lighter shade as I'm really rather pale.
My favourite concealer is a Maybelline mineral concealer that they no longer sell! :(

    1. Hi Chloe! Thanks for your comment! Yes this is definitely buildable, it has instant good coverage, but can be blended for a lighter coverage, or built up to be full :) xx

  4. I'm the same. My skin is actually quite good so I haven't really needed a concealer, I have the collection one and I'm happy with it so I would probably never stray!

  12. It's funny actually, as I've heard some bad press about it, so was a bit sceptical, but your review was really good. Did you think it had any bad points really? Just wondering whether it maybe my January pick me up! x
