AUTUMN/ WINTER LOVES

Hi lovelies! Today I thought I;d share with you all a few pieces from my Autumn/ Winter Wardrobe that I'm absolutely loving lately. This time of year really is my favourite time for fashion and I thought I'd put together a few of my staple pieces at the moment. If you like any of these and would like to see them in a 'proper' outfit of the day type post, then please leave me a comment and let me know!

First of all, I've been loving this plain white jumper from New Look, (similar here), a simple white jumper can be glammed up a bit with jewellery or just worn simply with leggings and boots for a casual outfit. This pink coat from Boohoo is easily my favourite thing in my whole wardrobe at the moment, it's such a stunning shade and makes a simple outfit (such as a plain white jumper and leggings...) look super girly and pretty!

Yet another statement coat, this baby blue cocoon coat from Missguided is another fab coat that can liven up a plain outfit. It's seriously cosy and soft too. I love it so much I also bought it in grey, which you can see pictured with what I think is probably a staple in every girls A/W wardrobe, a tartan scarf, this one is from Boohoo and it's my favourite. It's huge and so cosy, it's like taking a blanket with you everywhere you go.

This fluffy baby blue jumper from Primark was super cheap and comes in loads of colours, so I'm definitely planning on stocking up. It's literally like wearing a hug, not even joking. As you can see from the sulky face in the photo, it was raining, which is often the case in the UK and when it does, my gorgeous parka from Diva Dames* is a lifesaver. It's really warm and has a huge hood, no frizzy rain hair!

What do you think? What are your A/W staples?

PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS EARLY

Hi lovelies! Today, I wanted to do a post on how I am getting prepared for Christmas this year. Most years, I don't really even begin to think about Christmas at least until Halloween has been and gone, but this year I'm doing things a bit differently. I decided that this year I was going to get organised. By this, I don't mean have everything over and done with by 1st November, because I think getting too prepared too early can actually take the fun out of preparing for Christmas in December. However, I'm going to share a few of my tips for taking the stress out of the Christmas period, meaning you can enjoy the festive season without and worries!

Things To Get Done Now
These are all things that I think are good to start now, in late October/ early November and get out of the way. Some of these are the boring bits, or more stressful parts that take a lot of time and aren't as much fun, others are just to help spread out the cost of the holiday season!

Writing Your Own Christmas List
This is a great thing to do early, as you never know when friends and family will start asking you for gift ideas. Of course lots of people will want to surprise you, but I know that some of my family like me to give them ideas for gifts and almost every year I get in a mad panic and have literally no ideas. Writing up a wishlist of things you'd really like to receive is not only very helpful for friends and family, but it's pretty fun too!

Gift Ideas for Friends and Family
In the same way others need ideas for you, you may want to start thinking of pressie ideas for other too! I start by making a list of everyone I need to buy presents for, then brainstorm ideas for each person. If you're super organised, you can set a budget for each person too, then as you buy things, you can keep track of how much you've spent. It sounds a bit over the top, but when you're on a budget, this can be really useful.

Start Buying Presents
This is where the fun bit starts! Let's face it, Christmas is a bloody expensive time of year and starting your shopping now will spread out the cost. Even if you just pick up little bits here and there, they will start adding up and take the pressure off a little. I've bought a good few presents so far as it's already taking the stress off a little. As I usually shop only in November and December, that usually only gives two pay days to buy pressies and cover all the nights out, dinners and other costs that come with the Christmas season! Spreading it out over just one more month can help hugely money wise.

Write Your Christmas Card List
Writing a list of everyone you need to write a Christmas card for and making sure you have updated addresses can be a long and mundane task. Getting it out of the way in October means one of the more dull Christmas activities is out of the way!

Things To Get Done Later
These are things that I'm planning on doing around mid November and aim to have finished by December. This is again so the cost of Christmas is spread out and so that everything gets done in stages rather than all in one big rush.

Buy and Write Christmas Cards
I don't know about you guys, but I really don't enjoy writing cards. It's one festive thing that I just can't get into at all. This is something I'll try to get out of the way fairly early, but not too early, as I've written them in October before, then lost them. To this day, I have no idea where those cards went, but having to write them twice was soul destroying.

Buy Decorations, Wrapping Paper etc.
I like to buy wrapping paper and decorations and other Christmassy things in November, as the shops start to run out of the nicer things during December and that's rubbish. Wrapping presents is one of my favourite things and I like to have first pick of the pretty paper!

Finish Most Present Buying
By the end of November/ early December, I like to have the majority of my shopping done. I just leave a little bit of my Chrismas budget for cute little extra gifts and stocking fillers. This way, the stressful 'What the hell should I buy?!' part of Christmas is over, but there's still time for fun shopping in December.

Plan Christmas Events/ Parties/ Nights Out
If you're planning on going out a lot over the festive period, it's a good idea to start getting dates booked in fairly early. People are busy this time of year and you want to make sure you can fit everyone in and get tables booked without disappointment.

Things To Save For December
These are the super Christmassy things that wouldn't feel right if they were done at any other time of year! I'm saving these for December so that I can truly enjoy the Christmas period without the stresses of all the small stuff!

Buying The 'Little Extras'
As I said, I tend to save little extra gifts and stocking fillers until December when the shops are super christmassy, there are lights everywhere and festive songs playing over the speakers in all the shops. This bit is super fun.

Wrapping Presents
I always save wrapping presents for December, when I can sit down with a hot chocolate and put Elf or The Holiday on and wrap away. This always feels super festive and fun and I love to really take time to make my presents look really pretty. I like doing this later in the year because they can go straight under the tree once they're done!

Handing Out Christmas Cards
This is pretty obvious. but you'll look like a bit of a nutter if you give out cards before December. I like to get them out a little later in the month, so that if I've forgotten anyone who gives me a card - I've still got time to write them one!

Decorating the House
Duh! We always do this in the first couple of weeks of December and that's when it really starts to feel like Christmas.

Baking and Home Made Gifts
This is another festive thing that's best left until later on, as baking in particular needs to be saved! Making home made gifts feels really Christmassy and it's another 'in front of a Christmas movie' activity. I'm not one for home made gifts really, mostly because I don't have the time or patience and kind of slightly love shopping a teeny tiny bit too much, but the odd thing like putting together hampers and Christmas baskets is something I really enjoy.

What do you think? What are you favourite Christmas activities?
Are you getting started already or are you saving it until later?

Don't forget, the #BloggersAgainstCancer campaign is running until Christmas, click here for more info or text 'BLAC66 £2' to 70070 to donate now.

#BLOGGERSAGAINSTCANCER

To donate online click here
or text 'BLAC66 £2' to 70070

Hi lovelies. Today, I wanted to do something a little different, as I was watching the Gogglebox Celebrity special last night, which was for Stand Up To Cancer and it really got me thinking. While the show is very funny, it also showed some clips about Children and young people with Cancer and it really was truly heartbreaking. It's true that the disease affects so many people and their families and the scary fact is, I'm fairly sure almost everyone reading has either known someone that has died of Cancer, or knows someone that's battled it, or is going through it right now and despite desperately wanting to help, none of us can afford to give tons of money to the charity.

The fact is, it's getting near to Christmas and it's an expensive time of year, and sometimes, if we're honest, parting with just £20 for a charity can seem like a bit of a pinch. Or perhaps you're in school and live only off a part time job, or pocket money from your parents. So, while pondering what I could do to help, I was scrolling through bloglovin' and an idea hit me. I have over 2000 people following my blog and if even half of those people donated a small amount, this could actually really add up to make a substantial donation to such a worthy cause.

With this in mind, today official marks the start of the #BloggersAgainstCancer Campaign. I have set up a Just Giving page, which you can visit and donate on here. Or Text 'BLAC66 £2' to 70070 to donate £2. You can donate more by texting a different amount, i.e. 'BLAC66 £5'. I am asking that each and every one of you donate just £2 (this is the minimum amount you can donate on Just Giving, but of course, larger donations are hugely welcomed and appreciated), because bloggers and vloggers are a hugely powerful community and I know that if we all work together to share this campaign by tweeting with the hashtag, using the image on our blogs and sharing on social media, we as a community can make a huge difference.

I have opened the page to accept donations until Christmas Day, so let's all work together because we can make a difference. When we all stand together and each do something small, it can and will become something huge.

Copy this code to add the Donation button to you blog's sidebar:

WHAT I'D WEAR: TO A CASINO

Hi lovelies! The other night on a night out with my friends, we were talking about how fun it would be to go to some sort of Casino night or somewhere similar one time, just for a different kind of night out. The closest thing we have in our home town is a slightly run down old Bingo hall full of little old dears, so we may have to venture out for that one! If venturing out isn't your thing, you could always play at home (or even from your phone!) on sites like CasinoMidas - all the fun of the Casino and you don't have to change out of your PJs!

Having my blogger brain on at all times, the Casino talk sparked an idea for a blog post, or perhaps series of blog posts 'What I'd Wear To...' where I think of various places I've never been to, or would like to go to and put together my dream outfit for that occasion! So perhaps what I'd wear to a Masked Ball, a Christmas Wedding... Leave any suggestions below, as my brain is still not fully functioning after being poorly all week last week!

So, when thinking about going to a super glam night in a Casino, my mind instantly turned to my new love, 'Style Me Celeb' and this gorgeous 'Diaz' Dress. It's a stunning light pink dress and I think it's very glamorous and would suit the Casino scene perfectly! With it, I think silver accessories like this fab Lulu Guinness clutch and Topshop heels would look amazing. I think the pink and silver would look absolutely gorgeous together - and let's face it, I was never going to go for a simple little black dress was I?!

Let me know what 'What I'd Wear To...' post I should do next, as I loved putting the outfit together for this one!

WINTER WISHES

Hi lovelies! As it's getting closer to Christmas, the shops seem to have so many lovely things in them. I feel like every shop seems to get a bit more luxurious at Christmas time, with lots of new beauty releases, and cosy winter clothes and accessories, it's just all so lovely! My local Topshop hasn't got the full new range in yet, but I definitely want to give the Topshop Foundation a go, purely out of curiosity to be honest, I have no idea what to expect, but I'll definitely give it a go at least once! Also on the topic of makeup, I do love a luxury lip balm and this Dior Addict Lip Glow sounds fab, it's supposed to adapt to the moisture levels in your lips to enhance your natural lip colour and hydrate and plump lips at the same time! Let's face, the pretty pink packaging helps too.

One brand that always has gorgeous new releases at Christmas time, is Ted Baker and their new bags and washbags don't disappoint! I love this light pink one, with it's rose gold bow and gorgeous gem in the middle, just beautiful! I've always wanted a Michael Kors bag and this is one of my favourites, I love the tan colour as I think it's perfect for all year round, it's fab for darker outfits in the winter, but still lovely when Spring/ Summer rolls around again. It's also a great size for everyday, particularly if like me, you carry your entire life in your handbag!

Coats are my absolute weakness at this time of year and I am just absolutely in love with this faux fur coat from Topshop. It's probably a bit of a love it or hate it type of thing, but I definitely love it! I think white fur coats are gorgeous anyway, and the little touch of pink on the collar is just perfect. Also from Topshop is this super adorable chunky knit scarf, I think the pom poms on the ends are super cute and just add a nice little touch. I think this would be a cute, simple addition to any winter wardrobe.

What do you think of my picks? What are you lusting after lately?

HOW TO HAVE A BETTER DAY

Hi lovelies! Sorry I've abandoned you all a little this week, I've been feeling seriously crappy due to a very inconvenient viral infection and am currently off work sulking about having to stay in bed. Sick days are just not the same when you're actually sick. Not like when you were in school and faked sick to stay off and play The Sims all day (admit it, you did it too). So, I didn't want to leave you guys without a blog post, but I'm so not up for photographing/ reviewing/ generally having to do anything for more than 5 minutes today, so I thought I'd share this post I wrote a little while ago that for some reason has sat in my drafts for quite some time! This post is all about how to have a better day (something I could do with right now).

Sometimes, there is nothing better than spending a day off work, school, uni etc, just doing nothing. Having a super lazy duvet day, where all you do is watch trashy daytime TV, scroll through the internet, burn candles and have bubble baths. Every once in a while, we all need those days. However, I've found that what makes those days so special, is when they really only are are every once in a while. If like me, you have a job that isn't a regular 9-5, or perhaps you're at uni or college and have random days off in the week, you may find that your 'do nothing' days, become a little more of a regular thing than usual.

Sometimes, too many chillout days can leave you feeling a little bored and sometimes, being productive and getting things done feels much better. So, if your job or education means you have one or two days to yourself during the week, or you have a couple of free weekends and you want to spend them doing a little more than nothing, I've put together a list of things I like to do on my clear diary days!

Start Something New
By this, I don't mean a new series on Netflix people! For me, this was my blog. When I began Chloe's Way, I was in college with a part time job, but still had a fair bit of free time on my hands. If you're not already a blogger, a blog is a great use of your free time and once you get going, you can spend as little or a much time as you like on it. If that's not your thing, or if you're already a blogger, why not take up a new hobby, or start something you've been meaning to for a long time. Perhaps you want to start exercising more, eating better, redecorating, this is the time to get started! Plan what it is you want to do and take action!

Have a Blogging Day
For bloggers, which I'm sure many of you reading this are, this one is a great one. Sometimes if I have a free day, I'll take photos of all the products I want to talk about on my blog, I'll write lists of blog posts I want to do in the near future, I answer any emails I haven't had time to reply to and I write. Free days are soon over and when the busier days roll around again, I find it incredibly useful to have lots of blog posts saved ready to be published when I need them.

Get Organised
You know that big pile of old shoes gathering dust at the bottom of your wardrobe? Now is the time to get it sorted! Perhaps your makeup collection needs sorting out, or your wardrobe needs a clear out, even sorting through old files on your laptop! When your house or bedroom is organised and tidy, it makes it a much nicer to place to live and work. So go on, get started on that underwear drawer!

Workout!
This is an obvious one, but a free day is a great time to start a fitness plan if you don't already have one, but want to start. Finding the time to exercise is never easy (see my updated fitness routine post for more on this!), but if you have a day that you know you're going to have free every week (even better if it's more than one day), then plan to get up and workout for an hour, or more if you can take it! Then use your spare time to plan shorter workouts for busier days. Find 10 minute workout videos, or create a fitness chart or journal to track and organise your workouts, this way you'll have no excuses later in the week.

Get in Touch
Haven't spoken to your Nan in a while? Is there an old friend you'd really like to spend more time with? If you know that someone else is free on your free day, meet up, or phone them for a chat. Even if you just take some time out of your day to write an email or Facebook message to someone you need to catch up with, it's one more thing to tick off your to do list and you'll feel much better for it.

Plan Presents
Love it or hate it, Christmas time will soon be upon us. If like me, you're one of those people who says 'Okay, I'm going to be really organised this year.', then ends up doing a mad rush in the last few weeks before the big day, actually do it! Spreading out the cost (and stress!) of Christmas over a few months means you'll be much more organised and able to enjoy the festive time of year when it eventually does roll around. Write lists, start buying stocking fillers, stock up on wrapping paper and hey, you could even compile a little wishlist yourself, so when friends and family ask what you want this year, you can actually give them answer, you'll get what you really want and they'll thank you for it!

Give Yourself Something to Look Forward To
If you're a little bored, or need a bit of a pick me up, start planning for something. Personally, I like always having something to look forward to, big or small. This could be anything from planning to go out for dinner when your Boyfriend finishes work, to booking in for a haircut, to planning a holiday! Even if you don't have the cash right now, looking at holiday destinations and planning months in advance is always lots of fun!

Pamper Yourself
As we're having a productive day, I don't mean sit for hours in the bath, then laze around watching tv for the rest of the day. What I mean is, do all the little things you've been meaning to do, but never get round to. Productive can mean doing nice things too! Why not properly shape your brows, do a full, thorough fake tan, paint your nails and toenails, give yourself an intense pedicure, deep condition your hair. Your body will thank you and it's one less thing to do on busy days.

So, those are just a few things I like to do on my days off.
Let me know what you think, how do you like to spend your free time?

THE BLOGGER TAG

Hi lovelies! Recently, I was tagged by the gorgeous Lola from Lola's LittleWonders, to do 'The Blogger Tag' and if you know me at all, you'll be aware that I definitely cannot say no to a good tag as they're so much fun! So, let's get started.

What is your favourite beauty product?
I'm going to go for my fave product of the moment, as my all time favourite is just too hard to choose! Right now, I'm absolutely obsessed with Benefit creaseless cream eyeshadows. I have two shades currently, 'my two cents' and 'birthday suit', which are both stunning neutrals, one more warm toned the other slight cooler. What I love about these is that they're so easy to wear. Because they're so pigmented, they can be worn alone, but they also make great eyeshadow bases and they seriously live up to the promise of no creasing. These beauties will last you hours without a hint of crease.

What is your all time favourite brand?
Sticking to the theme, my fave brand is 100% Benefit. I can hand on heart say I've never used a Benefit product I didn't like. Obviously, there are some I love more than others, but as a brand I think they're a good all rounder. They aren't the cheapest, but they aren't grossly overpriced either and their gorgeous packaging wins me over every time. Also, an added bonus, Benefit have a fantastic relationship with bloggers and one of the friendliest teams ever. (In case you're wondering, no I'm not sponsored by Benefit, I just really bloody love 'em!).

Do you collect anything?
I don't think so, not consciously anyway. I think I accidentally collect things, like makeup, candles, train tickets... But all of these are just things I have a lot of, whether I mean to or not! I'm not really one for stamps, or sports cards and things like that, though that said, I do have two different special looking 50ps I. The back pocket of my purse as I think they might be rare, but I haven't bothered to check yet. Does that count??

Early bird or night owl?
Unfortunately for my sleeping pattern, I'm kind of a bit of both. While my working hours don't always call for early mornings, my boyfriend wakes up at 7:30 every Monday to Friday and generally I get up with him, whether I need to on that day or not. I like to workout in the morning most days too, so I do like early mornings, but I love late nights too! Don't get me wrong I love a nice early night after a busy day and a good lie in after a night out, but the majority of the time, I'm kind of an any time of day kind of person! Even if I'm up at six, you can pretty much guarantee I'll still be up for a night out! Soz dark circles!

Tea or coffee?
Brace yourself. Neither. It's not that I don't like tea and coffee, I just don't particularly love either. To be honest, I'm not really a hot drinks kind of person at all, I'll have the occasional hot chocolate in the winter and tea every now and then if I fancy it, but very rarely.

Whats your favourite TV show?
My all time favourite has to be Gossip Girl, as Blake is my ultimate girl crush. However, right now I've been loving Paul O Grady For The Love Of Dogs. I'm not sure if this series is finished now or not, but I just love it. I love dogs and seeing them get rescued by Battersea, then rehomed is just such a lovely, heartwarming thing to see.

If you could travel to any era, when would it be?
Definitely the 60s! For one thing, I think the fashion in the sixties was on point, mini skirts, bold prints and shift dresses, amazing! And not to mention, that was the Beatles era!

Let me know if you've done this tag, or if you're going to do it as I'd love to see your answers! I tag everyone!

STYLE ME CELEB*

Hi lovelies! Recently, I was contacted by the very lovely people at Style Me Celeb, offering me the chance to review an item from their amazing website. Style Me Celeb do gorgeous bodycon dresses and fab printed leggings, in the style of celeb outfits (as you may have guessed by the name!), for a much moe affordable price. Many of the styles have been seen on several incredibly gorgeous celebrities including Miranda Kerr, Kim Kardashian and my personal fave - the TOWIE girls #sorrynotsorry.

There are so many styles of dresses and being a born and bred Essex girl myself, this was one opportunity I was not about to pass up! With the festive season coming up, having a few party dresses in my wardrobe is always a good idea. As I can't resist a good LPD (little pink dress), I went for the 'Kim' dress in pink. It's a little bit barbie and I have to say I kind of love it.

For reference, I'm a size UK 6 and ordered this in a size XS and it fits like a glove. As you can see, it's incredibly figure hugging and unlike many bodycon dresses, it's made of a beautiful thick material, so no VPL over here. Always a bonus. The deep V neck and figure hugging style make even my non existent boobs look... Well like they exist, which for me is a big plus point, not gonna lie! This is probably just a tad too big around my chest area, so if you're a smaller size and more gifted in the chest area, this would be absolutely perfect on you, however it's nothing a good well padded bra won't fix for us B cups!

Overall, I am absolutely blown away by the quality and design of this dress, infact I think I want another one! I have my eye on the 'Diaz' dress, 'April' dress and 'Sophie' dress. Check out the Style Me Celeb website here, lots of gorgeous options for your Christmas or New Years outfits for sure!

What do you think? Do you like this dress? Will you be checking out Style Me Celeb?

FITNESS: THE PROS AND CONS OF WORKING OUT WITH FRIENDS

Hi lovelies! Today, I wanted to expand on a point I've made in a previous fitness post, which is working out with a friend, yes or no? Google motivation tips or fitness advice and you'll find several pages of advice on why working out with a friend is so great. However, they never seem to mention the downfalls of working out with a friend and today I thought I'd discuss the pros and cons of this. As I say with all my fitness posts, this is just my opinion and what works for me may not work for you. That said, if just a few people find this interesting or helpful, then that's good enough for me!

Working out with a friend can help with motivation and it can be more fun and if you have a friend that's into fitness and working out, or wants to lose weight or get in shape, then that's fab. Doing some of your workouts with said friend could well be beneficial to you, however there are a few reasons why regularly working out with a friend doesn't suit me personally. This isn't to say I never workout with others and today I'm going to share with you the pros and cons of working out with friends and some tips on how to overcome issues you may run into while working out with others.

Pros

Competiton
One great thing about working out with friends is that you can sort of make it into a bit of a competition. Is she doing more reps that you? Is she squatting lower? Running faster? Beat her! Sometimes, you'll find that you push yourself harder when you're with a friend. As I'll explain in the cons section of this post, this won't always be the case. But if you can find a friend that enjoys working out and is into fitness, they'll be a great friend to go with as they'll spur you on and hopefully make you work harder.

Fun
Undoubtedly, one of the biggest and best parts of working out with a friend is the fact that it's definitely going to be fun! This may be helpful for you if you don't particularly enjoy exercise and want to someone around to make it a bit more of a laugh. However it is very easy to lose concentration when you're working out with a friend, but we'll talk more about that in the cons section!

Motivation
This can go either way, but sometimes working out with a friend can be really great for motivation, as when you take a day off, you're not only letting yourself down, but your friend too. If you've agreed to run, or hit the gym 3 nights a week, you may be more likely to stick to it if you've made plans with a friend than if you just decided to go alone. If motivation really is an issue for you, it might

Cons

Timing
This for me was one of the biggest issues when I used to workout with my Mum in particular, but friends too. If you're going jogging, swimming or to the gym together, then you may possibly be restricted to a specific time limit. If you're in the mood for a good 90 minutes at the gym, but your friend only has half an hour to spare, you're more likely to cut your own workout short to fit in with them. You may feel as though you have to leave when they do, or if you're used to only being at the gym with a friend, it may seem a bit daunting to be there alone.
Overcome it: If you like working out with friends and this is an issue for you, I'd recommend maybe not travelling to the gym, pool etc together and not agreeing on a specific time to leave, but instead setting your own goals.

Concentration
I am absolutely guilty of this one and I know for a fact that when I do a workout with a friend, I don't work as hard. If you're chatting, chances are you aren't pushing yourself as hard as you could be. Overcome it: Easy days are important and if you like having a friend with you, maybe save it for the days that you know are going to be easy days. For example, if you do cardio 4 times a week and lousy yourself to the absolute limit on 2 of these days, bring a friend along on the other 2, this was you won't feel so bad when you set the treadmill down by a couple of mph!

Self Conciousness
This is a toughie. Obviously it would depend entirely on how comfortable you are with the friend you're working out with, but let's face it, really you'll never feel as comfortable getting sweaty, red and gross next to a friend as you would on your own! Initially I used to feel like this, which is why I work harder at my home gym than I ever did at the public gym infront of lots of people.
Overcome it: The only way around this one is to either workout with someone you're super comfortable with, or just stop caring! If you really don't like looking like a sweaty mess infront of people, the same point applies as above, workout with friends on your easy days and keep your harder workouts to yourself!

What do you think? Do you like working out alone or with friends?

#LDNXmasMeet PART TWO

Hi lovelies! It's that time of year again! Well, okay, it isn't, it's October. However, due to the success of the #LDNXmasMeet blogger meetup last year, myself, Ellie and Perdi have decided to do it again! We are in the very first stages of organisation right now, so dates and venues are not yet confirmed, however the event will most likely be held on a weekend in mid December and will once again involve a meal and the chance to sit and chat to lots of lovely bloggers and we're in the process or scoring some fab goodies to give out to all of you on the day!

As I said, dates and venue are not yet confirmed and I will be checking in on Chloe's Way as well as on twitter @chloesway, every couple of weeks in the run up to the event to update you guys on what's going on. So first things first, we need to get a list of you lovely lot within the next few weeks to get a rough idea of how many people are interested so we can book a venue and get details sent over to you guys ASAP, giving you plenty of time to confirm whether or not we will be seeing your lovely face at the event!

For now, if you're interested in coming or just interested in getting further details before you decide, leave a comment below with your twitter handle, blog link and email address (twitter handles and blog links will be printed on the final guest list and given out on the day, so we can share your fab blogs with everyone who attends!) so I can get in touch with you with details. If you prefer, you can email me with these details on chloe@chloesway.com, with the subject #LDNXmasMeet.

Can't wait to hear from you!

GUEST POST: HOW TO MAKE A UNIQUE HALLOWEEN COSTUME

How To Make a Unique Halloween Costume

It’s that time of year when we’re all out looking for great Halloween costumes on sale and dreaming up what we’re going to be this year. Many of the best idea have already been done, often year after year after year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a way to make them your own and come up with a truly stunning, unique costume that people will notice.

A big part of making a unique costume is assembling it yourself. True, you’re going to want to see if you can find costumes on sale, but maybe grab two or three and combine them – or take one and add elements of your own. Here’s our complete guide to making a unique costume without spending a lot of money.

Fashion First

One thing that’s crucial to a unique and memorable costume is that it looks good on you. Just because you’re going to be a flesh-eating zombie doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish doing it. Fashion influences costumes several ways:

  • Face paint or carnival style masks look better than full face masks
  • Hats, veils, wigs and styled hair can all be part of the costume
  • Choose glitzy club wear to make any costume sexy, like a red cocktail dress for a devil

Sure-Fire Hits

1. Group Theme

One great way to make a splash with your costume is to have a group theme shared with your friends. The theme can be very broad, like Rock Stars, or very specific, like Disney Characters. One very fun idea is to go with something a little abstract—for instance, choose a favorite band and everyone dresses as a different song by that band. This leaves a lot of room for creative interpretation and also creates excitement as people try to guess which song you are.

Group themes are fun because you get to work together on the idea with friends. Plus, it will make your group the life of any party—when people find out you all share a theme they will want to meet each member of the group and see all the costumes. Plus, group photos!

2. Mashup

Another way to get a one of a kind costume is to take two different ideas that have something in common and put them together. For example, instead of going as Frankenstein’s Monster or Cookie Monster from Sesame Street, you could combine the two ideas and go as Frankenstein’s Cookie Monster. This allows a lot of room for creativity in what would otherwise be a very typical costume. Mashup costumes get extra points for cleverness—people will love trying to guess what your costume is.

3. A New Take

A third great way to make a one of a kind costume is to simply take a classic costume idea and put a new twist on it. We’ve all seen plenty of Draculas, zombies, Frankensteins, mummies, pirates and ninja—but does your Dracula have to look the same as everyone else’s? You could go as a Hipster Dracula, a Pop Star Zombie, or a Zombie Lawyer. This also opens the door to a sexy new take on a classic costume, as well as funny or ironic costumes.

Now Make It Your Own

This guide will help steer you right as you go out costume shopping, but the final result will be entirely your own creation. What are you going to be this year?

BENEFIT WORLD FAMOUS NEUTRALS: MOST GLAMOROUS NUDES EVER REVIEW

Hi lovelies! I have a review for you all today from my absolute most favourite makeup brand ever, Benefit! Recently, I've had a bit of a thing for eyeshadows and while I've been loving the high street for bargain palettes lately, this little 'World Famous Neutrals' kit from Benefit has caught my eye several times, so I finally gave in and bought it. Best. Decision. Ever.

Honestly, I don't know how they do it but I have genuinely never tried a Product that I didn't actually like. So, when trying new things, the little kits like this one are fab as you get several products all in one, very cute, incredibly well presented package. More than the actual shadows themselves, I was super excited to try the little cream shadows that come in this kit, I love using cream shadows as a base for my regular eyeshadow and having always stuck with my MAC paint pots, (which don't get me wrong, still have a very special place in my heart!) I was ready for a change.

All I can say is wow. The two 'creaseless cream eyeshadows', 'Birthday Suit'(brushed chrome) and 'My Two Cents' (polished copper), are absolutely stunning, you can see from the swatch above how gorgeously pigmented these are and they apply like a dream, super smooth and can be blended out for a more subtle look or built up for a richer, more pigmented finish. I am also pleased to report these can be worn alone or with eyeshadows over the top with absolutely no creasing all day long. The one teeny tiny little grumble I have about these is the size of the pots. I totally understand that they need to be small to fit inside the kit, but for someone with long nails like me, it's a bit of a nightmare to get your finger in there! I get around it by using a little brush though, which many people would probably do anyway, I just quite like apply cream shadows with my finger! That aside though, these really are fab products and I definitely want to add a few full sized versions to my collection in the near future.

As for the actual shadows themselves, I was absolutely blown away by the quality of them. Benefit isn't the first brand that tends to spring to mind when it comes to eyeshadow but let me tell you, these are incredible! The kit comes with four shades, 'Call My Buff' (pale shell), 'Kiss Me I'm Tipsy' (spiced brown), 'It's Complicated' (golden peach), 'Gilt-y Pleasure' (golden sand), these are all 'longwear' shadows, and when they say that, they're not joking! Applied over one of the cream shadows, these look as perfect at 8pm as they did when I applied them at 8am! The swatches above were done with just one fairly light touch of my finger, so you don't need a lot of product to get a rich, pigmented colour, making them great value for money too.

All the shades in this palette compliment each other perfectly and it comes with a little book of tips and tricks and mirror in the lid of the box, making it fab for on the go, or as a palette for beginners, as you can create so many looks with the gorgeous shades provided and you can go from day to night all in one super handy little palette!

As you can probably tell, I cannot say enough great things about this little beauty! The 'World Famous Neutrals' range has three variations, so if these shades aren't for you, I'm sure there will be one to suit you! These are available on the Benefit Cosmetics website, bonus, the 'Most Glamorous Nudes Ever' palette is the number one best selling eyeshadow item in the UK! This retails at £23.50, which for four good sized fab eyeshadows and two beautiful cream shadows, is pretty damn good if you ask me!

Let me know your thoughts!
Have you tried any of the Benefit kits? What's your favourite?
